Michelle Heaton and her husband Hugh Hanley have consistently been each other's strongest advocates, and they're now marking 15 years of wedlock.
Celebrating a unique milestone in July, Michelle shared how Hugh has been her 'rock' through all the challenges life has brought their way.
The couple, parents of their two children Faith and AJ, exchanged vows in the Bahamas in 2010, but what do we know about the beginning of their relationship?

Who is Hugh?
Hugh comes from Ireland and serves as the personal training director at PureGym. After completing his studies at University College Dublin, he has been active in the wellness and fitness sector ever since.
Hugh prefers to avoid the public eye, but has become more open since Michelle disclosed her challenges with alcohol and drug addiction.
On the Lorraine talk show, he stated: "There were numerous instances when I could have left, and it would have been simpler. There's no escaping it; living with an addict is incredibly challenging."
How they met

Following her fast-paced marriage to Andy Scott Lee, Michelle encountered Hugh during a night out in Dublin. Shortly thereafter, they went on their initial date in Cork, where they saw P!nk perform live and then dined at the restaurant Man Friday in Kinsale.
This is where my husband brought me many years ago," Michelle mentioned in a video at the restaurant 15 years later, accompanied by her family. "At this meal, we decided that we would have two children in the future and we would name them Faith and AJ, and we achieved our dream.
The wedding
The couple got marriedin the Bahamasin July 2010, two years following their initial meeting.
In the classic 2000s wedding fashion, Michelle and Hugh's special day was bright and full of joy, with Michelle wearing a traditional trumpet-shaped tulle dress along with a tiara, and Hugh dressed in a light grey suit.
They tied the knot on Michelle's birthday, so let's hope Hugh doesn't ever forget this day!
Family life

Two years later, Michelle and Hugh welcomed their daughter Faith in 2012, and their son Aaron Jay, known as AJ, became part of the family in 2014.
Michelle frequently posts images of herself and her family, stating that they were her main focus and the reason she sought assistance with her addiction.
Fighting addiction

Michelle has been candid about her struggles with addiction and has shared that when she entered Priory, she was consuming as much as two bottles of wine daily, one bottle of vodka, and using cocaine.
In April 2025, Michelle marked her fourth year of sobriety and commended her husband for his support during difficult periods.
My husband, thank God, never left. He knew I was still in there; he was just waiting for me to rediscover myself," she said. "Every day, I realize how fortunate I am to be alive and here for Faith and AJ.

Referring to her spouse as her foundation, Michelle has labeled Hugh's resilience in their relationship as 'their second opportunity' to discover love in one another.
Speaking in 2021 regarding Michelle's journey to recovery from her addiction, Hugh statedthe MirrorIt's as if we've been given a new opportunity to fall in love once more. I believe we're managing better than ever...
The most favorable result is our current situation. The children have a much better mother, and she has returned to being the person I married.
Hugh was present with Michelle during her mastectomy in 2012, following her discovery that she had the BRCA2 gene, which raises the likelihood of breast or ovarian cancer.
Michelle now utilizes her social media platform to support women who receive this diagnosis, as it can lead to various side effects, including early menopause.
