A father courageously gave his kidney to save an 11-year-old girl, who reminded him of his own daughter who had died.
Andy Emmott, 55, mentions he gave the organ "without any hesitation" upon learning that young Amber desperately needed it to survive.
This issue holds a special place for the father, as he lost his own daughter Sarah at the age of eight following a relentless effort to find a kidney for her.

She has been dealing with congenital nephrotic syndrome and various serious medical conditions from birth, spending a significant portion of her early years at Leeds General Infirmary and Martin House Hospice.
Following a fierce battle and a broad-based campaign backed by Leeds United and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, Sarah ultimately obtained a kidney transplant.
Nevertheless, she sadly died precisely 364 days following the organ transplant.

Dad Andy, who is currently undergoing recovery, stated: "I gave a kidney because a generous stranger provided one for my daughter."
I recognized the appeal of Amber, and there were numerous similarities between Amber and Sarah that made me feel I had to apply, and fortunately, I turned out to be an excellent match.
Andy, who is based in Tadcaster, Yorks., is currently making a good recovery and has resumed work at Northern Powergrid, but is only performing administrative tasks for now until he is completely back to health.

His manager, Amanda White, has shared her appreciation and admiration for Andy, stating: "I am absolutely terrified of giving blood, so donating a kidney is truly remarkable."
I wasn't aware of Andy when he lost Sarah, but after visiting him at home during his recovery, her memory is evident everywhere, with photo after photo.
What is clear is the extent of her love and the happiness she experienced despite all she was facing.
Each photograph of Sarah shows her with the most contagious smile. Therefore, it's amazing that Andy was able to change the life of another young girl following such a difficult loss.
We are all very proud of Andy as a team, and we hope both he and Amber recover completely and quickly.

Since learning about Sarah's condition, Andy has been diligently working to collect money for Theodora Children’s Charity.
He stated, "Theodora Children’s Charity provided support to Sarah throughout her many visits to the children's ward at Leeds General Infirmary. They brought a lot of happiness and laughter into her life and served as a wonderful distraction for her."
They are a small organization that receives limited support for their efforts, as they must compete with larger, more recognized charities; therefore, any contributions are greatly valued.
