
Australia rugbyflanker Rob Valetini has stated he is "ready to go" for the secondBritish and Irish LionsTest in Melbourne for a major increase in physical fitnessWallabies.
Valetini, one of Australia's most notable solo athletes in recent years,missed the initial battle in Brisbaneas he progressed back from a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old was greatly missed at Suncorp Stadium as the home team struggled with a lack offorward collision-winners in a 27-19 loss, with lock Will Skelton another significant injury absentee.
The duo are set to return at the MCG on Saturday, with Valetini playing in his hometown as the Wallabies aim to level the series.
"I had a positive week last week focused on training and managed to recover well, so I'll be eligible for selection," Valetini stated.
I believed I would have been a certain choice for the first Test, but it made sense to take a week off and continue with more training, focusing a bit more on calf strengthening. I had a session on Saturday morning and completed a challenging session, so it feels good to be back in action.

Valetini is expected to partner with openside Fraser McReight and the captainHarry Wilsonin the rear of Australia's team, with the three players aiming to replicate the displays of their Lions teammates.
Tadhg Beirne, Tom Curry, and Jack Conan all made an impactin the initial match and could very likely remain in their jerseys on Saturday.
I was observing from the sidelines and I felt all three were quite engaged," Valetini mentioned about the Lions' back row. "They are strong players and they carried out their responsibilities effectively.
I was excited to take the field but couldn't. I believe that's the challenge we face this week, being aware of what's ahead and getting ready for it.
